The conference will be held at the Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel from November 7th to 9th 2017 and will present a rare opportunity for active engagement among leading researchers, programme implementers, educationalists and policy makers involved in early childhood development in the low and middle income regions of the world.

The conference programme is centred round the theme “Early Childhood Development in Uncertain Times: From Awareness and Evidence to Commitment and Action”.

The participants in the conference will benefit from research and programmes of IHD and the global work of the University to enhance the quality of life for all children. This will inspire professionals to join together to contribute more to meeting the needs of children in the early stages of their learning.

All round table sessions, special topics symposia, full and parallel plenary presentations will reserve 20 per cent of the allotted time for engagement with the speakers.  Throughout the three day event, there will be scope for networking with fellow professionals who are keen to foster early childhood development.

A highlight of the conference will be the pluralism conversational round table commemorating His Highness the Aga Khan’s Diamond Jubilee will feature panellists discussing the challenges and prospects for the advancement of pluralism in all walks of life.

In another round table, representatives of donor agencies and foundations will discuss the best means of moving forward global initiatives for early childhood development.
