

KERUGOYA, Kenya, July 6, 2020 – Four people suspected to be livestock thieves were on Monday morning hacked to death by residents of Mithuthi-ini village in Kirinyaga County.
The four were allegedly found in the act of stealing livestock. They are said to be notorious and a trap was laid trap. The villagers then pounced on them as soon as they showed up to steal goats from one of the area residents.
Confirming the incident, Mwea East Deputy Police Commander Lucas Chebet said the four were “cut into pieces by residents using pangas.”
The deputy police commander stated that two other suspects managed to escape the scene. Bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Kerugoya Hospital mortuary.
