Hot race between Bidco United and City Stars for KPL promotion

NAIROBI, Kenya, January 21, 2020 – Thika based Bidco United served notice of their Kenyan Premier League(KPL) title promotion with a resounding 2-1 triumph over Migori Youth in a tough encounter staged at the Thika Stadium over the weekend.

The win, Bidco’s 13th out of 20 matches, kept them within touching distance of runaway leaders Nairobi City Stars, who have commanded a seven-point lead as at round 20. The Thika based side is six points clear of third-placed Vihiga United, who fell to FC Talanta on Sunday.

Earlier on Saturday, City Stars stumped their authority with a routine 2-0 win over Vihiga Bullets, to take their tally to 40 points.

Fourth-placed Nairobi Stima missed a chance to go second when they surrendered a 2-0 advantage to draw 2-2 with Kenya Police on Saturday while fifth-placed Ushuru kept their hopes alive with a 3-2 win over APS Bomet.
