KISII, Kenya, January 13, 2021 – A Form 3 student at Kisii high school has pleaded not guilty for attempted murder charges before Kisii law court Senior Resident Magistrate Stephen Njoro.
The 17- year old student was arraigned at the Kisii Law court on Wednesday with attempted murder charges according to section 220(a) of the penal code.
He was charged that on January 12, 2021, within Kisii high school compound he stabbed two teachers leaving them with injuries. The suspect allegedly stabbed Edward Mokaya four times leaving him with serious injuries.
He was released on a cash bail of KSh50,000 with an alternative bond of KSh100,000. The case will be mentioned on January 27 this year

According to the school Deputy Principal Jared Morara, he was in his office when the student stormed with a sharp panga and threatened to kill him.
The 18-year-old student Moffat Masese, attacked the school deputy principal with a sharp panga and a file which he was carrying in his bag during the morning incident.
The deputy principal raised the alarm before being rescued by colleague teachers and support staffs. Police responded and arrested the said student and took him to Nyamira Police Station.
Police officers have launched investigations as the student is in police custody awaiting to be arraigned in court.
This is the second incidence, after a Form three student in Kisii High school stabbed two teachers for not reporting to class.
