Repent or God will wipe you out like King Herod, Pastor warns DP Ruto

Popular city pastor Godfrey Migwi is not happy with the deputy president, William Ruto. This is after having to watch Malindi MP hon Aisha Jumwa praise the deputy president like he was God.

“Stop them from praising you like God, the types of Aisha’s have gone too far, they must separate politics with blasphemous act. Why did you allow Aisha to praise you like God as worshipers and church leaders cheered in your presence?” posed the House of Hope Church founder.

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 21 – Deputy President William Ruto is a man under siege following the overzealous antics of his diehard ally, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa who equated him to God.

Without mincing words, an outspoken city preacher Godfrey Migwi has appealed to DP Ruto to call his overzealous allies to order, repent or face the wrath of God.

The clergy was reacting to Jumwa’s actions that have sparked countrywide debate.  Migwi urged the DP to advise his supporters to stop praising him like God.

Apparently she went on to replace God’s name with Ruto’s – in a praise and worship song as others went on it to join as they sang along in honor of the Deputy president.

Speaking at a church function over the weekend in Trans-Nzoia County, Jumwa gave the popular Swahili song ‘Hakuna wa kufanana’ a rendition saying, ‘Hakuna wa kufafana na Ruto’.

In a letter posted on Facebook, the preacher castigated Jumwa for turning a Christian hymn into a praise song for DP William Ruto.

“Stop them from praising you like God, the types of Aisha’s have gone too far, they must separate politics with blasphemous act. Why did you allow Aisha to praise you like God as worshipers and church leaders cheered in your presence?” posed the House of Hope Church founder.

Migwi further alluded to Bible’s account of King Herod. This act did not augur well with many Christians who termed it blasphemous.

The long letter touched on aspects that the theologian felt were overboard and should not be condoned in the future by politicians in the name of campaigns.

Without mincing words, an outspoken city preacher Godfrey Migwi has appealed to DP Ruto to call his overzealous allies to order, repent or face the wrath of God.

“My message is very simple and clear, it’s an advice to you and your die-hard supporters. Please my honour stop them for praising you like God, the types of Aishas have gone too far, they must   separate politics with blasphemous act,” the message stated.

The pastor further delved deeper into the issue and asked Ruto to read a series of biblical verses that warned rulers against receiving such praise from human beings.

“Read this verse in the Bible; Acts 12:21-23… King Herod died with belly disease for allowing poor people from Tyre and Sidon to praise him like god just because he gave them food and they relied on him for food, so he was eaten by worms and died,” the pastor warned.

The theologian did stop there but added a few historical instances that emphasized that such veneration belongs to God only.

“Antiquities 19.8.2… In short Herod died in pain for allowing people to praise him like God, God never shares His praises and glory with anyone no matter the support he/she gives to the people… Isaiah 42:8; My name is the LORD! I won’t let idols or humans share my glory and praise,” the letter read.

He went ahead and poised a plea to the DP.

“So, please deputy president, stop this people from praising you no matter the 2022 politics, politicians come and go, big leaders come and fade away. Please again, stop your followers from this blasphemous act. We must respect others and everything that belongs to God, only Him to be praised.
