Woman Claiming To Be Late Nyachae’s Wife Emerges With Two Children

In a press conference in Kisii town, Margret Kerubo Chweya aged 65 claimed that she is the wife to the late Simon Nyachae and now wants the family to recognize her.

KISII, Kenya, February 16, 2021 – A woman claiming to be a wife to the late former Cabinet Minister Simeon Nyachae, has emerged with two children, demanding that she be recognized by the family.

In a press conference in Kisii town, Margret Kerubo Chweya aged 65 claimed that she is the wife to the late Simon Nyachae and now wants the family to recognize her.

Ms Kerubo further claims she had a love affair with the late Nyachae, which blossomed and bowed them two children.

Kerubo, a resident of USA said she met Nyachae in 1973 at Jogoo House where she was working.

She stated that they conducted a traditional customary wedding since Nyachae had other three wives to legitimize their marriage. She said that they were blessed with two sons Rodney Nyachae 47 and Brian Nyandusi Nyachae 41.

According to her, last year when she heard that the late Nyachae was ailing she travelled from USA to Kenya to visit him.

Ms Kerubo further claims she had a love affair with the late Nyachae, which blossomed and bowed them two children.

Kerubo said that when she arrived at the gate she was barred from accessing him since that time Covid-19 was on the spiral. She further said that she had no other option apart from going back to the USA.

Kerubo narrates that while in the USA she received a text message that Nyachae had passed on. “I made arrangement and travelled back to Kenya so that I can give a befitting send off to my loved husband and father to my kids,” she said.

She regrets that when she arrived at Nyachae’s ancestral home she was barred from accessing the home. “I was told to get out of the compound since they don’t recognize me, I moved out of the compound helplessly,” she lamented.

She said during the burial ceremony at Gusii stadium she was not recognized, nor her sons. Ms Magret said that she was chased from the compound so she didn’t witness when Nyachae was laid off.

“It really hurt me when the family didn’t recognize me, I was not given priority like the inner family,” she cried.

Magret wants the family to recognize them since they are part of the family. She said that Nyachae loved her and the two sons. She asked the family to divide the wealth equally since she belongs to the Nyachae family.
